Plumbing
What is Plumbing?
Careers in the plumbing industry involve installing, repairing, and maintaining water, gas, and waste disposal systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. It is a recession-resistant career, often offering high earnings potential, including six-figure possibilities for experienced professionals. This job requires working in tight spaces, climbing ladders, using power tools, and at times operating equipment like backhoe excavators.
What do students in the Plumbing program at JRTI do?
Industry safety, measuring, cutting, joining, construction math, operating hand tools and power tools, reading construction drawings, basic rigging, communication skills, and employability skills. Students will work on realistic simulations in the shop and possibly assist Carpentry and Masonry students with live jobs and projects.
