What do Firefighters do?

A firefighter is a first responder who protects people, property, and the environment from fires and other emergencies. Firefighters put out fires using hoses, trucks, and special equipment, and they rescue people from dangerous situations like burning buildings, car accidents, or natural disasters. They also provide basic medical care and teach the community about fire safety and emergency preparedness. Firefighters train regularly to stay physically fit and to learn how to use their tools safely. This career requires teamwork, bravery, and quick thinking, because firefighters often work in challenging and dangerous conditions to help keep communities safe.
